As Executive Director of the Consolidated Employers Organisation, I help steer our team of committed and skilled professionals toward achieving the vision and mission of CEO – that is, to be the voice of employers in a challenging and technical labour environment. I am an admitted attorney and I have been specialising in labour law for nearly 15 years.

During my career in this field, I have chaired disciplinary hearings and attended to many dispute resolution processes across the various labour forums. My more recent work with CEO, first as National Manager and now as Executive Director, has helped me hone my organisational management skills. Through my contribution, the organisation has become a significant party on numerous bargaining councils with a substantial membership base of small, medium and large employers.

I firmly believe that hard work, dedication and commitment are the ingredients for a successful career and I consistently recommit myself to living those values and to nurturing a culture of consistently adding value to colleagues, members and business partners. Fostering strong relationships internally and externally will always lead to success in any organisation.

Jaundré is the National Operations Manager of the Consolidated Employers Organisation and has held the position since 2021. He is responsible for the oversight of all Provincial Offices and Management of the Senior Management Group. He and the CEO’s Executive Director have sectional oversight over the CEO’s Collective Bargaining Unit. Finally, he is responsible for oversight of the CEO Training Department together with the Senior Dispute Resolution Official appointed as the Head of the Training Department.

He joined the Consolidated Employers Organisation in 2015, where he took up the position of the Regional Manager for the Free State and Northern Cape.

Jaundré obtained his LL.B degree in 2007 from the University of the Free State, completed his articles at Symington & De Kok Inc. in Bloemfontein, and was admitted as an attorney in 2009.

Before joining CEO, Jaundré worked as an internal labour consultant with SEESA (Pty) Ltd, where his labour knowledge and skills were grown through extensive internal labour experience.

Jaundré also obtained his PGDBA with Distinction in 2022 from the University of the Free State.
Jaundré is highly experienced in the field of Labour Law with specialised expertise in Arbitration & Negotiation proceedings but is currently honing his managerial skills to the benefit of the Consolidated Employers Organisation.

Wesley began his journey with CEO as a dispute resolution official in 2018 in the Bloemfontein office. During his time at the company, he has amassed a wealth of knowledge in the labour law sphere, having dealt with a multitude of matters, ranging from the frequently occurring dismissals and unfair labour practices, but also including complex demarcations and so forth.

Wesley has not only shown expertise as an arbitrator, but also as an excellent negotiator over his tenure at CEO.
He was appointed as the Provincial Manager for the Free State and Northern Cape in 2021 and has since helped to take the region from strength to strength.

Wesley now ensures that the members of his region are represented at the CCMA and various bargaining councils by his fine team, with officials in Bloemfontein, Kimberley, Bethlehem and Kuruman.

As the provincial manager of the Eastern and part of the Southern Cape I have many roles. My most important function however is to ensure that our members receive the best assistance and representation in the disputes that they experience at the CCMA and Bargaining Councils in our region. Members come to us for guidance when they are in the midst of complex and stressful labour disputes. Our team always carries our members’ unique needs and risks into our negotiations and provide expert and thoughtful guidance throughout the processes.

I have a broad legal background with more than eight years of experience in litigation, labour law, arbitrations, case management, industrial relations, and dispute resolution. I regard myself as highly dynamic and motivated with excellent communication, liaison and interpersonal skills. Prior to my role as provincial manager, I was employed as a dispute resolution official by CEO. As a dispute resolution official, I successfully represented members in more than 1200 CCMA and Bargaining Council disputes.

These traits serve me well to ensure that our valued members always have a voice at the various dispute resolution forums in our region.

I am currently the Provincial Manager of the Western Cape Office of the Consolidated Employers Organisation where I lead a team of officials. My passion for Labour Law developed while I was studying for my degree and thereafter while in practice. I later joined SEESA labour services in the position of legal advisor. My experience in the field of labour law developed quickly during this period. I soon was promoted to senior-legal advisor.

In 2015, I joined CEO in my current position as Provincial manager. I organise the operations of the branch and guide the officials on how to present cases at arbitration.

I sit on council at the Building industry bargaining council (BIBC). In addition, I serve as a trustee on the BIBC provident/pension fund.

I am passionate about the work we do at CEO in support of our members. Our dispute resolution and collective bargaining functions provide an outstanding service to our members, and I endeavour to ensure that this service is of the highest standard.

I am Provincial Manager for the Kwa-Zulu Natal region overseeing the operations of all Labour Disputes that require representation at the CCMA and Bargaining Councils in the region. I have been specialised in Labour Law for the past 16 years and it is my passion.

Prior to joining the Labour Law field, I worked for the Legal Aid Board where I gain a wealth of experience especially in the litigation department. This experience really laid the foundation for my legal career and has assisted me in the Labour field.

Daniel Van Der Merwe began his journey at CEO in 2018 as dispute resolution official in the George office. Since then, Daniel has occupied the position of provincial manager in the Eastern Cape region whilst recently making the transition to the office of the National Collective Bargaining Co-ordinator in Gauteng.

Since occupying this position, the Collective Bargaining department has re-envisaged its strategic goals and objectives culminating in Daniel recently being elected as the deputy president of the MEIBC. Daniel, with the assistance of his skilled Senior Co-ordinator, Ernest Masupye, seeks to constantly strive to ensure CEO’s members’ interests are always protected while simultaneously looking towards the bigger business and employment picture in relation to Collective Bargaining in the various industries.

Daniel currently furthering his studies to not only contribute to the growth and development of CEO but to specifically provide the best and most informative input and guidance to CEO’s members in relation to their interests at collective bargaining and industry level.

Daniel has a keen interest in training and development, through integration with CEO’s training department, it is envisaged that this passion will materialise in the form of greater training and development programs being rolled not only within CEO but directed at CEO’s members as well.

I began my journey at CEO in 2015 as a legal assistant at our Head office in Gauteng. Following that, I occupied the position of Collective Bargaining co-ordinator in the Gauteng region and recently, got promoted to being the Senior Collective bargaining Co-ordinator.

Since occupying this position and together with our newly appointed National Collective Bargaining Co-ordinator Daniel Van der Merwe, the Collective Bargaining department realigned its strategic goals and objectives to constantly strive to ensure CEO’s members’ interests are always protected while simultaneously looking towards the bigger business and employment picture in relation to Collective Bargaining in the various industries. I am looking forward to furthering my studies within the field of business management and business development and not forgetting the Labour Relation to be able to contribute towards the growth not only of CEO, but also CEO members.

It needs to be noted that the CEO collective bargaining department was part of the National Negotiation Team at the MEIBC, NBCPSS, BCCEI, BIBC and NBRFLI in which our members were represented, and their voices were heard during the negotiations. The Collective Bargaining department is always engaging with CEO members regarding latest developments amongst the different bargaining council within South Africa, unlike most employer organisation who are not party to any bargaining council, and it is a great honour knowing that CEO is always the voice of SME business.

We believe that the year 2023 will be a great year for the Collective Bargaining department especially with regards to the new ideas and ensuring that our goals are met.

I am currently a Senior Dispute Resolution Official of the National Office of Consolidated Employers Organisation (CEO) and the Head of the Training Division. I have been a Dispute Resolution Official at CEO since 2019, specialising in Dispute Resolution specific to Labour and Employment Law.

Before that, I practised as an admitted Attorney, specifically in Criminal and Civil litigation in the High Court, Regional Court, and Magistrate’s Court. The CEO Training Division focuses on the training, continuous development, and professional growth of all our staff, as well as expanding our focus externally towards training our members and prospective members.

I am passionate about making a difference through my work and influence, both internally and externally. CEO as an Employers Organisation offers employers and prospective members a “vigorous platform to assist them in a meaningful way.” This is significant because what we do within CEO makes a difference to the lives and businesses of our members. We make a meaningful impact through our Dispute Resolution and presence within the Labour-Sphere of South Africa as Consolidated Employers Organisation, the “Household Brand” for Employers.

Zwelakhe Thwala joined the Consolidated Employers Organisation as a Dispute Resolution Official in pursuit of being immersed in an environment that is fully committed to rendering expert labour law services to its members.

During his tenure as a Dispute Resolution Official, Zwelakhe Thwala has assisted various CEO members in successfully navigating through complex disputes at the CCMA and Bargaining Councils. He embodies the CEO’s mission by ensuring that all CEO members receive excellent professional services and keeping abreast of all labour relations developments.

This resulted in him climbing the ranks and being promoted to the role of Senior Dispute Resolution Official, in which he now oversees more complex disputes, legal research, training, and the development of CEO’s legal assistance and official. This is certainly a role in which he is very excited, as he will continue to contribute to CEO’s development and mission.

As a Senior Dispute Resolution Official, Shakti’s role within the organisation is to handle complex matters as well as to assist in the running and day to day operations of the busy Durban office. Shakti is meticulous in his responsibilities and pays particular attention to member relationships as well as case management.

Shakti commenced his career as a Public Prosecutor for the National Prosecuting Authority of South Africa where he excelled in the court room environment which set a strong foundation for his legal career.

After his time with the NPA, Shakti found his true vocation in Labour Law and has obtained a Masters degree in Labour Studies from the University of Kwa Zulu Natal. With Labour Law being his passion, Shakti has devoted himself to representing members at the CCMA and Bargaining Councils throughout KwaZulu Natal.

Shakti has successfully represented members in highly-publicised matters involving various stakeholders across different sectors. Shakti has been described as an individual that is patient, humble, diplomatic whilst not compromising on the rights and needs of his members.

My role at CEO started out as Administration Assistant for our Head Office in 2018 and despite this role I was motivated to learn more from our Head of Administration.

I have years of experience as I worked in the Admin ranks in various companies some being Sales Administrator in a well-known education institution to entering the Legal Industry as just a secretary a few years ago.

The experience, hard work and drive contributed to growth as I became the Assistant Head of Administration National.

I love how this position challenges myself and create space to share ideas. From system work, reports, payments and various Admin work or even just a single call assisting a member; this both might sound like my expertise, but really actually contributes to my satisfaction every day.

I work very closely with our Head of Administration as we ensure we guide all the different CEO Regions Administrators in order for CEO’s Admin functions to run smoothly as a whole.

In the end it is imperative for us that our members have peace of mind when it comes to their membership and administration. The ‘Behind the scenes’ as they say.
